New Screening Technology for Infants and Children
We are one of the first eyecare clinics in Canada to use the PLUSOPTIX device which screens for eye disorders among infants, children and difficult to assess patients. The Visual Screener emits non-invasive ultrasound waves that measure refractive errors, pupil distances and eye alignment to give the optometrist a snapshot of possible visual disorders. The infant or child can sit on a parent’s lap and within a matter of seconds the optometrist can detect eye disorders including Amblyopia and Low Vision.
